Dusit expands in Northern Mindanao with two new hotels

Italpinas Development Corp. (IDC) announced on Monday that its subsidiary, IDC Prime, has signed agreements with Thailand’s Dusit International to operate two new Dusit-branded hotels in Northern Mindanao. The hotels will be located in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro, marking a significant expansion of Dusit’s presence in the Philippines.

The first hotel, Dusit Princess Moena, is set to open by 2029 in the Moena Mountain Estate, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. The 1.5-hectare development will feature a mix of luxury villas and an eight-story green building, designed to blend with the area’s natural beauty. Located in Barangay Dahilayan, known as the “Baguio of Mindanao,” the resort will cater to both domestic and international visitors attracted to the region’s cool climate and scenic views.

The second property, Dusit Princess Firenze, will open in the fourth quarter of 2029 at IDC’s Firenze Green Tower in Cagayan de Oro’s Limketkai area. This 14-story mixed-use development will include commercial, residential, and hotel spaces, offering first-class amenities and convenient access to nearby hospitals, businesses, and the downtown district.

Both projects will showcase IDC’s commitment to sustainable architecture and green design, while Dusit’s expertise in hospitality will elevate the guest experience. “We are excited to collaborate with IDC, whose vision for sustainable growth aligns with our own,” said Prateek Kumar, Senior VP of Dusit International.

IDC’s CEO Romolo Nati emphasized the importance of these developments, noting that both Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro are poised for significant growth, further bolstered by the influx of tourists to the region. Dusit’s global brand and quality service are expected to have a transformative impact on Northern Mindanao’s hospitality industry.

Dusit’s existing portfolio in the Philippines includes Dusit Thani properties in Manila, Cebu, Davao, and other locations, and the new developments in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro are set to enhance the region’s appeal as a prime tourist destination.
