The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and Aboitiz InfraCapital have launched a joint training initiative aimed at strengthening project management capabilities in the country’s aviation sector, as both groups push for more efficient and globally competitive airport operations.
The AIC Airports–CAAP Project Management Training, held April 27 and 30 at the Civil Aviation Training Centre, brought together 44 CAAP personnel and eight AIC team members. Additional sessions are planned to accommodate more participants, reflecting growing demand for skills aligned with increasingly complex aviation projects.
AIC Vice President and Head of Airports Rafael M. Aboitiz said the program is designed to standardize how both organizations plan and execute projects.
“This initiative goes beyond training—it is about building a shared language for execution and strengthening alignment across our organizations. As Philippine aviation continues to evolve, AIC Airports’ ability to deliver complex projects efficiently and collaboratively will be critical to sustaining long-term competitiveness,” he said.
CAAP Director General Raul L. Del Rosario underscored the importance of collaboration and thanked Aboitiz InfraCapital for supporting the initiative.
“This is where partnerships become essential. We would like to express our sincerest thanks to Aboitiz InfraCapital for sponsoring and supporting this learning initiative. Their commitment to capacity building reflects not only corporate leadership but also a genuine partnership in nation building,” he said.
The training equips participants with practical tools to manage complex projects, improve efficiency tracking, and develop performance metrics. It is led by project management expert Jovenir Batacain.
Both CAAP and Aboitiz InfraCapital said the initiative lays the groundwork for future collaboration to enhance airport operations nationwide.
