TAFT stakes P10B on Batangas manufacturing surge

Singapore-based Total Advanced Future Technology Pte Ltd (TAFT) is investing more on the Philippines, unveiling a P10-billion expansion in Batangas aimed at making the region a key hub for advanced, climate-resilient building technologies.

The first phase includes a P3.6-billion state-of-the-art manufacturing facility expected to create around 3,000 direct jobs, with most output slated for export to Japan.

TAFT will serve as the anchor locator for Light Industry and Science Park IV (LISP IV), reinforcing Batangas’ appeal as a magnet for export-oriented industries.

The site was recently visited by Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) officials, led by Director General Tereso O. Panga, alongside executives from Science Park of the Philippines Inc. (SPPI), ahead of an upcoming investment mission to Japan.

The project highlights growing foreign interest in the Philippines as companies diversify manufacturing operations and strengthen regional supply chains. PEZA pointed to the strategic importance of the CALABARZON region, particularly Batangas, whose infrastructure and logistics connectivity under the Luzon Economic Corridor initiative continue to attract investors.

TAFT’s expansion aligns with SPPI’s broader vision to position LISP IV as a premier industrial estate for export-oriented companies, with additional projects in the pipeline, including a planned ecozone in New Clark City.

Meanwhile, PEZA and SPPI will embark on a two-week roadshow across Japanese cities from May 30 to June 11 this year, to woo further Japanese investment in innovation-driven industries.
