Ayala, Mitsubishi, Mynt eyes P7B revenue from ‘Smart Life’

A new partnership among Ayala Corp., Mynt, and Mitsubishi Corp. is projected to generate around P7 billion in revenues as the companies roll out “Smart Life” digital services aimed at making everyday transactions faster and more convenient for Filipinos.

The collaboration was among three memoranda of understanding (MOUs) signed on May 27 in the presence of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Trade Secretary Cristina Roque, underscoring deepening Philippine-Japan cooperation in financial technology, smart cities, and digital connectivity.

Under the “Smart Life” initiative, the companies plan to launch rewards programs, ticketing services, online payment platforms, and digital marketing solutions designed to simplify consumer transactions and expand digital access nationwide.

The deal forms part of a broader push to accelerate the country’s digital transformation through public-private and cross-border partnerships.

In a separate agreement, Ayala Corp., Globe Telecom, Mitsubishi Corp., and KDDI Corp. will explore “Intelligent City” initiatives in Makati City, with potential expansion to other urban centers across the Philippines.

The proposed smart city projects will leverage artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, urban data platforms, and advanced telecommunications systems to improve transportation, energy management, retail services, and digital city operations.

Another MOU signed by Ayala Corp., Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Mitsubishi Corp., and Mynt seeks to further expand GCash services both locally and overseas, strengthening the platform’s reach among consumers and overseas Filipinos.

Roque said the partnerships demonstrate sustained investor confidence in the Philippine economy and are expected to deliver safer, faster, and more accessible digital services while creating new opportunities for Filipino consumers, businesses, and workers.
