Fiber expansion drives Globe’s 6% rise in Home broadband revenues

Globe Telecom Inc. is accelerating the expansion of its fiber infrastructure to keep up with rising demand for high-speed internet, a move it sees as key to its long-term growth. President and CEO Carl Cruz said that the company’s priority is delivering reliable connectivity that matches the changing needs of Filipino households, while ensuring every investment brings real value to customers and supports sustainable operations.

The strategy is delivering clear results. Home broadband revenues climbed 6 percent year-on-year to P6.2 billion, fueled by wider fiber use and steady demand for data services. Fiber now makes up about 93 percent of total home broadband earnings, as more users shift to faster, more stable connections. The company’s total broadband subscriber base rose 22 percent to 2.2 million, driven by this migration and strong need for internet to support work, schooling, entertainment, and daily digital tasks. A notable milestone was reaching one million users for its GFiber Prepaid service, showing strong interest in flexible, accessible fiber plans.

This performance has kept the business growing for four straight quarters, marking one of its strongest starts to a year recently. Looking ahead, Globe targets low to mid single-digit revenue growth for the full year, backed by ongoing demand for data and further fiber expansion. The outlook balances caution amid economic uncertainty with confidence in its ability to deliver consistent, high-quality service. By building out its fiber network nationwide, Globe is strengthening its lead in home connectivity and helping more households take part in the country’s expanding digital economy.
