AC Health is expanding its support for the government’s universal healthcare drive by growing its network of clinics and pharmacies accredited under key Philippine Health Insurance Corp. outpatient benefit programs, widening access to free consultations, laboratory tests, and essential medicines.
Edwin Magsino, chief operating officer of Healthway Clinics, said the company is accelerating the rollout of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation’s Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) across its healthcare network, with seven Healthway Multi-Specialty Clinics now accredited alongside its participating hospitals.
“Our goal is to have at least one accredited clinic in every strategic location where we operate, both in Metro Manila and in the provinces,” Magsino said.
The accredited clinics include facilities in Estancia, Cloverleaf, SM North, and UP Town Center in Metro Manila, as well as branches in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao, extending the program’s reach across the Visayas and Mindanao.
YAKAP provides registered PhilHealth members and their qualified dependents with free outpatient consultations, 13 essential laboratory tests, cancer screenings, and up to P20,000 worth of essential medicines annually.
Magsino said AC Health is prepared to support the wider implementation of the government’s expanded healthcare benefits by ensuring its facilities can accommodate eligible members.
The company is also expanding access to medicines through its participation in PhilHealth’s Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT) program.
Under the initiative, all medicines included in the YAKAP formulary are available at accredited Generika Drugstore branches, while select St. Joseph Drug outlets have also joined the program. Nearly one-fourth of Generika’s pharmacy network has already secured GAMOT accreditation.
The GAMOT program provides qualified members and dependents with up to P20,000 worth of free outpatient medicines annually, covering 75 essential drugs used to manage chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma.
The broader rollout positions AC Health to play a bigger role in expanding access to affordable primary care as PhilHealth scales up its outpatient healthcare benefits nationwide.
