Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially launched retail sales of the all-new Land Cruiser FJ, bringing a smaller and more accessible version of its legendary sport utility vehicle to the local market as it looks to attract a broader range of Filipino buyers.
The introduction expands Toyota’s iconic Land Cruiser lineup by offering a model that blends the brand’s renowned off-road capability with everyday practicality. Designed for motorists who want adventure-ready performance without the size and price of larger Land Cruiser models, the FJ is expected to appeal to both outdoor enthusiasts and urban professionals.
The launch also reflects Toyota’s continuing effort to diversify its SUV portfolio as demand for versatile vehicles remains strong in the Philippines. The Land Cruiser FJ gives buyers another option in the increasingly competitive midsize SUV segment while carrying one of the automotive industry’s most recognizable nameplates.
Powering the new model is a 2.7-liter 2TR-FE gasoline engine that delivers 166 horsepower and 245 Newton-meters of torque. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel-drive system with Active Traction Control, allowing drivers to tackle both city roads and more demanding terrain.
Built on a rugged ladder-frame chassis, the Land Cruiser FJ preserves the durability and off-road credentials that have long defined the Land Cruiser family while adopting dimensions that make it easier to maneuver in everyday driving conditions.
TMP is offering the vehicle in two variants, the TX and the higher-spec VX, under its multi-pathway strategy of providing mobility solutions tailored to different customer needs. The TX emphasizes rugged functionality, while the VX adds premium amenities and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes advanced driver-assistance features designed to enhance safety and driving convenience.
