Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC) has launched its brand of risk management app called NAC Risk Dashboard (NARDA) as part of its commitment to further promote environmental, social and governance best practices in the industry.
NAC said the NARDA app is the first of its kind in the country and meant to help the company harmonize its risk management programs and serve as digital assistant for the risk management committees (RMCs) of nine subsidiary firms.
The app was launched in Cebu City where a risk conference was held to identify, assess and mitigate the risks in its operations, track and manage incidents arising from these and help plot a business continuity plan.
The app also allows employees to report incidents, emergencies and crises and later on will also be able to monitor natural events, socio-economic trends, security alerts, political activities and other information helping RMCs plot a corresponding action plan.
“We are offering ourselves as the guinea pig of the mining industry in the sustainability journey. We will commit the mistakes, learn the process, but if we succeed and become a good model, the DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources) can more confidently establish a greener future,” said Jose Bayani Baylon, NAC senior vice president for risks, sustainability and communications.
