    Petroleum prices retreat after five weeks of hikes

    The various fuel retailers have cut the cost of petroleum products sold at the pumps after five weeks of increases.

    Beginning Tuesday morning, Seaoil and Caltex will sell their gasoline P0.60 cheaper per liter, their diesel P0.10 per liter and their kerosene P0.40 per liter of kerosene cheaper as well.

    Jetti and Clean Fuel similarly reduced the price of their gasoline by P0.60 per liter and diesel by P0.10 per liter.

    Prior to this development, gasoline and diesel prices were hiked for five weeks in series although kerosene prices were increased twice.

    Year-to-date adjustments show as a net increase of P5.15 per liter for gasoline, P4.40 per liter for diesel and P0.85 per liter for kerosene.
