    DOT crafts new slogan to tap MICE sector

    The Department of Tourism has crafted a new slogan tugging at the heart of the meetings, incentive travel, conventions and exhibitions or MICE market.

    According to agency officials, participants at such events spend five times more money and time there than regular tourists do. 

    The new slogan is “MICE Philippines: We take your business to heart”. 

    DOT officials said the slogan, which was unveiled during the MICE Conference 2024 at Clark in Pampanga, is hopeful the country is transformed into a MICE powerhouse. 

    The Clark Freeport Zone was chosen as this year’s host due to its accessibility and readiness of conference venues, among other considerations.

    The freeport has more than 4,000 available hotel keys with several hundreds more under construction, Agnes Devanadera, Clark Development Corp. president and CEO, said. 

    M.I.C.E. Conference 2024 is the biggest gathering of industry professionals in the country. 

    The Tourism Promotions Board, the DOT’s marketing arm, said it has prepared a dynamic and empowered sales team to actively promote the Philippines as a top MICE destination globally.

    “Our goal is clear: We will establish the Philippines as a premier MICE destination known for its world-class experiences, top notch facilities and unparalleled hospitality,” TPB chief operating officer, Maria Margarita Montemayor-Nograles, said.
