Angkas in solidarity with riders and waives its commission for a day

Motorcycle taxi service provider Angkas has temporarily waived its commission for a day to help its bikers cope with the recent storm’s financial toll.

Ankas has implemented Signal Zero, an initiative that reduces its commissions to zero percent, allowing bikers to keep the entirety of a day’s fares, mitigating the financial impact of the recent storm.

The motorcycle taxi firm also offered complimentary motorcycle repairs at its Tagumpay Center for those bikes damaged by the rain.

“Our bikers are part of our family. It’s crucial to look after our family, particularly through challenging periods like what we are experiencing,” George Royeca, Angkas chief executive, said.

“I hope that our actions have offered them some relief and encouragement to recover from the aftermath of Typhoon Carina,” he added.

In the wake of the typhoon, Angkas held welfare checks in several Metro Manila cities and offered much needed support, particularly to bikers hindered by Typhoon Carina from conducting their usual operations on the roads.

Angkas extended aid to over 1000 biker families in Pasay, Manila, and Taguig.

The support included distribution of rain gear, financial aid, grocery supplies, and Xteer engine oil to the riders.

Beyond distributing necessities, Royeca also facilitated wellness forums to engage with the bikers directly, emphasizing company support and solidarity.
