    BSP welcome new monetary board member

    Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr. has welcomed new monetary board member (MBM) Jose L. Querubin who took his oath of office at the BSP head office in Manila on 05 September 2024. 

    The experienced banker completes the seven-member board. MBM Querubin will serve until 02 July 2026. 

    Before joining the BSP’s highest policy-making body, MBM Querubin was United Coconut Planters Bank president and CEO (2003-2007); ASEAN Finance Corporation (now AFC Merchant Bank, a Singapore-based investment bank) board member (2005-2007); Bank of America Senior Vice President and Asia Regional Sales Director (2000-2003) and Country Manager-Managing Director for the Philippines (1998 -2000); and Solid Bank Corp Executive Vice President (1993-1998). 

    He also served as Megalink President and CEO (2005-2007) and Bankers Association of the Philippines Secretary (2006-2007). He holds an MBA from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, and bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics (Cum Laude) and Mechanical Engineering from De La Salle University. Mr. Querubin joins Governor and MB Chairman Remolona, Finance Secretary and MBM Ralph G. Recto, and MBMs Benjamin E. Diokno, Romeo L. Bernardo, Rosalia V. De Leon, and Walter C. Wassmer, who joined the board in July.
