As Tropical Storm Ofel exits, Pepito is intensifying into a typhoon, with PAGASA warning it “may reach super typhoon category by tomorrow evening (November 16) and may possibly make landfall at peak intensity.” Pepito is forecast to hit the eastern part of Central or Southern Luzon, pushed southward from the northern tip of the country by a high-pressure area near Japan. Pepito is currently moving at 25 kph, with sustained winds of 110 kph and gusts of 135 kph.
