LRT Line 1 service suspension for Holy Week maintenance

The Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC) announced a temporary suspension of LRT Line 1 operations from 17 to 20 April 2025 to allow for essential maintenance and system upgrades. The service pause will take place during the Holy Week, specifically from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday.

In preparation, the LRT Line 1 will operate on a regular schedule from 14 to 16 April, with first trips departing at 4:30 AM from both Dr. Santos Station and Fernando Poe Jr. Station. The last departures will be at 10:30 PM from Dr. Santos and 10:45 PM from Fernando Poe Jr. Station.

Enrico R. Benipayo, LRMC president and CEO, emphasized the operational significance of the suspension, saying, “Our priority at LRMC is the long-term safety and efficiency of the LRT-1. This Holy Week suspension is a vital part of our annual maintenance program, ensuring that critical upgrades and inspections are completed for more reliable service.”

During the suspension, all LRT-1 trains will undergo thorough testing and inspection. Normal operations are expected to resume on 21 April, with services returning to full capacity. LRMC urges passengers to plan their trips accordingly and thanks commuters for their understanding as they carry out these necessary improvements for the continued safety and efficiency of the LRT-1 system.
