Ayala named among ASEAN’s Top 50 for corporate governance excellence

Ayala Corp. has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Publicly Listed Companies in ASEAN and among the Top 5 in the Philippines for exemplary corporate governance at the 2025 ASEAN Corporate Governance Conference and Awards (CGCA) held in July in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The distinction affirms Ayala’s position as a leader in governance best practices across the region, citing its strong commitment to transparency, accountability, board effectiveness, and stakeholder engagement. The recognition carries significant corporate and commercial weight, reinforcing Ayala’s reputation among global investors and supporting its long-term strategy of building sustainable, trust-based businesses.

“At Ayala, we believe that excellence in corporate governance enables decision-making that is purposeful and aligned with our mission to build businesses that enable people to thrive,” the company said. It added that a robust governance ethic is critical to “maintaining investor interest and confidence.”

The ASEAN CGCA evaluates listed companies across six member countries—Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam—based on publicly disclosed corporate governance practices using the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard.

In addition to Ayala Corp., its telecom subsidiary Globe Telecom Inc. also made the ASEAN Top 50 and Top 5 in the Philippines. Other Ayala companies recognized as ASEAN Asset Class firms—achieving a minimum score of 97.5 out of 130—include ACEN Corp., AREIT Inc., Ayala Land Inc., AyalaLand Logistics Holding Corp., and Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI).

The ASEAN CGCA noted continued regional progress in governance, especially in board accountability, shareholder rights, disclosure practices, and sustainability integration. A total of 35 Philippine firms reached Asset Class status in this year’s assessment.
