Spanish foundation brings solar power to Pampanga community

acciona.org, the corporate foundation of ACCIONA, has extended its Light at Home program to San Nicolás, Pampanga, bringing clean and affordable solar energy to over 140 people. This expansion builds on its rural electrification work in Palawan from 2022.

The initiative uses home photovoltaic systems supported by a local service center, ensuring reliable electricity and ongoing technical assistance. The project aligns with ACCIONA’s construction of the Malolos–Clark railway line and aims to boost social impact in surrounding communities.

The Spanish water-and-energy company is half of the joint venture awarded the contract to help build a section of the rail line funded by the Asian Development Bank. Its foundation helps hard pressed communities around the world gain access to basic services like water, sanitation and electricity in an affordable and sustainable manner.

To date, acciona.org has improved energy access for over 15,700 people across the Philippines, as part of its broader mission to promote universal access to essential services worldwide.
