    Meralco ready to handle power concerns during holidays

    The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) says it is fully prepared to respond to any electricity service issues over the holiday season. Crews and personnel will be on standby 24/7, including Christmas Day, to ensure reliable service for over 8 million customers.

    Meralco vice president Joe R. Zaldarriaga urged customers to also practice electrical safety for a worry-free holiday. He shared some tips: unplug Christmas lights and appliances when not in use, check lights for damaged wires, avoid using nails or thumb tacks to hang lights, refrain from connecting multiple extension cords together, and keep a fire extinguisher at home.

    Although Meralco Business Centers will be closed on December 24 and 25, customers can still report electricity issues via the MyMeralco app, the company’s Facebook page, X account, text messages (0920-9716211 or 0917-5516211), or the Meralco Hotline at 16211.
