The Department of Transportation (DOTr) says more people used the EDSA Busway in 2025, as travel along EDSA became smoother and more reliable.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has told the DOTr to keep improving the EDSA Busway so commuters can travel more safely, conveniently, and easily.
In 2025, the EDSA Busway carried 66,669,287 passengers, up from 63,022,953 in 2024. December 2025 saw a record monthly ridership of 6,530,415, and the busiest single day was in April 2025, with 321,186 passengers.
Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the DOTr will continue modernizing the busway to make travel faster and more comfortable. “We still have more improvements coming, including the upgraded Kamuning Busway Station and three new stations in 2026,” he said.
Since it started in June 2020, the EDSA Busway has served a total of 341,307,843 passengers.
The EDSA Busway is one of the DOTr’s key projects, supported by the DPWH and MMDA, aiming to make public transport along EDSA, Metro Manila’s main road, safer, faster, and more accessible.
