    NLEX–C5 Northlink section halfway completed

NLEX Corp. said construction of Section 1A of the NLEX–C5 Northlink Segment 8.2 is 50 percent complete, marking steady progress toward finishing the full 11.3-kilometer road linking Mindanao Avenue and C5/C.P. Garcia.

The section covers about 2 kilometers, with ongoing work on the elevated expressway, support piers, and at-grade ramps. NLEX president and general manager Luis S. Reñon said reaching the halfway point shows the company’s commitment to completing the project as soon as possible, noting that it will improve connectivity and ease traffic on local roads.

Once finished, the section will connect the Mindanao Toll Plaza to Quirino Highway through an all-weather elevated expressway, bypassing Mindanao Avenue and the Tullahan River. The road will operate 24 hours a day and be open to all vehicle types, benefiting an estimated 11,000 vehicles daily and helping reduce congestion along Quirino Highway and Mindanao Avenue.

The entire NLEX–C5 Northlink Segment 8.2 will run from Mindanao Avenue to C5/C.P. Garcia near Katipunan Avenue, providing a key link between northern and southern Luzon via eastern Metro Manila. Aside from improving traffic flow, the project is expected to support business growth, create jobs, and boost economic activity along the route.

NLEX Corp. is a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., the toll road arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corp.
