Union Galvasteel Corp., a unit of Phinma Corp., has supported GMA Kapuso Foundation in the construction of a school building in disaster-stricken Binibitinan Elementary School in Polillo, Quezon.
The move is part of Phinma’s Making Lives Better mission and in support of rehabilitation efforts in areas damaged by Typhoon Karding last September.
Union Galvasteel donated high-quality roofing materials.
The classrooms to be built by GMA Kapuso Foundation are able to withstand typhoon winds of up to 300 kilometers per hour.
By providing a resilient and secure learning environment, Union Galvasteel and GMA Kapuso Foundation improve the well-being and educational continuity of the students.
Phinma earlier reported income in the first three months falling 2 percent to P484.56 million from last year’s P493.46 million. It projects stronger performance in the coming months as both local and global economies recover.
