Motorists heading to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 can now reach the terminal faster with the opening of a new off-ramp connecting the Skyway directly to the NAIA Expressway.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the inauguration of the Andrews Avenue off-ramp on Thursday. The new route is expected to reduce travel time by 15 to 25 minutes by allowing drivers to avoid a long-standing traffic bottleneck near the airport.
The project was built by San Miguel Corporation through its infrastructure unit. According to CEO Ramon S. Ang, congestion in the area previously caused delays of up to 30 minutes along a one-kilometer stretch.
The new link includes a 320-meter, two-lane off-ramp along Andrews Avenue in Pasay City, as well as road widening near the Circulo del Mundo Rotonda. It was completed in just 12 months—much faster than the original 36-month timeline—through coordination between government agencies and private contractors.
Officials said the project comes ahead of the expected surge in passengers during Holy Week and is part of the government’s broader effort to improve transport infrastructure through partnerships with the private sector, according to Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon.
