West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. has agreed to provide the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) free use of treated wastewater for its Clean and Green project in Pasay city.
Under the agreement, Maynilad will provide BFP, free of charge, the treated effluent of its Pasay water reclamation facility for purposes limited to the watering of ornamental plants along major and secondary thoroughfares; flushing of government facilities, roadways, center islands, barriers, plant boxes and underpass walls; and firefighting activities.
Maynilad also committed to provide water in volumes on a daily basis as treated wastewater is dictated by the facility’s treatment capacity.
Maynilad gave assurance the treated effluent complies with the general effluent standards set by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base serving the cities of Manila, Quezon City, Makati, Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon as well as the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario in Cavite Province.
