ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) Philippines has secured a major 10-year renewable energy deal with MPower, locking in 40.5 megawatts of clean power for its Fairview and Cavite data center campuses.
The move comes as demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital services rapidly accelerates across the country. Data centers—critical to services like online banking, e-commerce, and streaming—are facing increasing pressure to scale while managing energy use.
STT GDC Philippines said the long-term agreement ensures its infrastructure can expand sustainably, keeping pace with the country’s growing digital economy while reducing environmental impact.
Company president and CEO Carlo Malana stressed the urgency of balancing growth with sustainability, saying the deal anchors operations on renewable energy and supports the firm’s target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
The clean energy supply will power key facilities, including the already operational STT Fairview 1 and the expanding Cavite campus, where new capacity is being tested and prepared for launch.
With digital demand continuing to surge, the company emphasized that investments combining resilient infrastructure and renewable energy are becoming essential to ensure reliable and sustainable growth in the Philippines.
