Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. (AIC) has begun initial reconfiguration works at Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA) as part of a phased plan to improve operations and passenger experience.
The upgrades aim to make the airport more efficient, accessible, and comfortable for travelers. As the country’s 10th-busiest airport, BPIA is preparing for increasing passenger traffic while maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.
AIC said the project is being carried out in coordination with the Bohol Provincial Government, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
CAAP said the improvements are part of broader efforts to strengthen airport operations across the country, focusing on safer and more efficient services.
In March 2026, the DOTr and CAAP approved the airport’s reconfiguration plans, including layout adjustments, security measures, and additional equipment. The works come ahead of AIC’s first anniversary managing the airport in June 2026.
Local officials have also discussed possible improvements inside the terminal, including expanding space for local Bohol products to support the province’s economic plans.
The upgrades will be rolled out gradually, with more updates to be announced. AIC said the project aims to support Bohol’s growth as a major tourism and investment destination while improving travel experience for passengers.
