EvoEnergi to supply power to 224 McDonald’s PH stores

Local electricity supplier EvoEnergi has been chosen to provide 22 megawatts of power to 224 McDonald’s stores in Luzon, the companies announced Wednesday.

The deal was made with Golden Arches Development Corp. (GADC), the Philippine franchise holder of McDonald’s. It covers both conventional and renewable energy supply and is part of efforts to improve reliability and sustainability.

EvoEnergi was selected through a competitive bidding process. The stores are grouped into 23 clusters under the government’s Retail Aggregation Program (RAP), which allows businesses to combine electricity demand to secure better rates.

The covered outlets are located in areas served by Manila Electric Co., Pangasinan III Electric Cooperative, and Batangas II Electric Cooperative.

Company officials said the partnership will help McDonald’s better manage energy costs and ensure stable power for round-the-clock operations, including kitchens, digital systems, and drive-thru services.

EvoEnergi, part of the D&L Group, supplies electricity to large “contestable” customers—those allowed to choose their power provider. Currently, businesses need at least 500 kilowatts of peak demand to qualify, but this threshold will drop to 100 kilowatts starting next year.
