RCBC widens MySSS card access via DiskarTech

Rizal Commercial Banking Corp., the country’s 6th largest lender by assets,  is deepening its push into digital inclusion by allowing users of its DiskarTech app to directly apply for the MySSS Mastercard Debit Card, streamlining access to both banking services and government benefits in one platform.

The move effectively completes the integration of the MySSS Card across RCBC’s DiskarTech ecosystem, giving qualified users a pathway to upgrade from basic accounts to full-service banking while receiving Social Security System disbursements. By embedding the application process within the app, RCBC removes friction that has long kept many Filipinos from formal financial services.

Users can upgrade their accounts, retrieve a required transaction number from the MySSS portal, and apply for the card within the app before receiving it via delivery. The card enables cashless payments, direct receipt of SSS benefits, and savings that earn up to 4.00 percent annually, while also helping users build a formal financial track record.

“RCBC continues to make banking more accessible for Filipinos through simplified digital journeys,” said Lito Villanueva, the bank’s chief innovation and inclusion officer. He added that expanding access allows users to “move beyond basic accounts” and participate more fully in the digital economy.

The broader play is strategic. By linking social protection with everyday banking, RCBC positions DiskarTech not just as an entry-level wallet but as a gateway to deeper financial engagement. Low barriers to entry, including minimal documentation and no maintaining balance, remain central to its appeal.

The partnership with the Social Security System highlights a growing model where banks and public institutions collaborate to scale financial inclusion. For RCBC, the bet is that convenience and integration will convert first-time users into long-term customers.
