Globe trains agencies vs mobile scams

Globe held a technical training session with government agencies to improve the use of IMSI catcher detectors in fighting mobile-based scams.

The session came after Globe turned over the devices last March and aimed to help authorities apply the tools in real-world operations. Participants included the NTC, CICC, PNP-CIDG, and NBI.

Cellular security expert Dr. Altaf Shaik of Technische Universität Berlin led the training, explaining how rogue mobile threats work and how they can be detected and stopped.

Globe officials said effective mobile security depends on proper use of the tools, faster response, and stronger coordination among agencies.

The company added that better information sharing and joint enforcement efforts can help authorities stay ahead of evolving cyber threats and protect mobile users nationwide.
