Ayala Land hits the brakes on cars, not fun

Ayala Land, Inc. is bringing its popular Car-Free Sundays to Davao and Negros, giving residents a rare chance to reclaim city streets for people instead of traffic.

After winning hearts in Metro Manila and Cebu, the program now turns quiet avenues at Azuela Cove and North Point into vibrant spaces for wellness, recreation, and community life. Bikes, electric scooters, and walkers take center stage while cars stay parked.

At Azuela Cove, visitors can explore parks, glide along bike paths, or simply enjoy the freedom of strolling without traffic. North Point focuses on nearby residents, offering safe spaces for cycling, jogging, family activities, and outdoor sports. The initiative shows that urban living can be active, social, and fun, all without relying on cars.

The program builds on years of success in Cebu Business Park and Cebu I.T. Park, where growing crowds have led to extended hours, weekend markets, and spontaneous outdoor games.

Makati first demonstrated that streets could thrive when designed for people rather than vehicles. Now the concept is expanding across the Visayas and Mindanao, proving that communities respond enthusiastically to spaces that prioritize health, connection, and enjoyment.

Car-Free Sundays is more than a traffic experiment. It is Ayala Land’s statement on urban living, emphasizing wellness, sustainability, and shared experiences. Streets become destinations for socializing, exercise, and leisure. Residents get a taste of a city that feels safer, greener, and more inviting.

Every bike ride, scooter glide, and walk along these reopened streets shows that Ayala Land is building more than estates. It is building communities where people, not cars, drive the experience.
