Land Bank drops fees on online government payments

State-run Land Bank of the Philippines is eliminating convenience fees on select online government payments until the end of 2026, a move aimed at lowering transaction costs for Filipinos while accelerating the shift toward digital public services.

Starting June 1 through Dec. 31, 2026, eligible person-to-government (P2G) payments made through QRPh-enabled channels will be processed free of charge. The initiative forms part of the government’s broader effort to cushion households from rising costs and expand access to essential services through digital platforms.

The fee waiver covers payments made via LANDBANK Link.BizPortal using QRPh, QRPh standees in participating government offices, and government websites that accept QRPh payments. Covered transactions include payments to selected national government agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations, local government units, water districts, and state universities and colleges.

Among the transactions that can now be completed without convenience fees are police clearances, real property taxes, business permit payments, apostille services, and other regulatory charges.

The move aligns with the government’s Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Program, which seeks to provide targeted relief measures while improving access to public services.

Finance Secretary and LANDBANK Chair Frederick D. Go said the initiative makes essential government transactions more accessible by removing additional costs often associated with digital payments.

Meanwhile, LANDBANK president and chief executive officer Lynette V. Ortiz said the program supports broader efforts to bring more Filipinos into the formal digital financial system.

Beyond the immediate savings, the fee waiver highlights the government’s growing reliance on digital payments as a tool for financial inclusion. By reducing friction in online transactions, policymakers hope to encourage wider adoption of cashless payments while making government services faster, more convenient, and more affordable for the public.
