Smart Communications recently held its Smart Customer Day at the SM North EDSA Cyberzone store, combining exclusive treats for subscribers with practical learning on staying safe and smart online.
As digital threats grow more advanced alongside new technology, the event went beyond just offering connectivity deals. It focused on educating customers about online risks, proper digital habits, and how to make the most of today’s online world.
The activity featured sessions under Smart’s ongoing SCAMpaign, which teaches people how to spot, avoid, and report different types of scams. Participants also learned safe practices for digital payments, protecting personal financial details, and the benefits of cashless transactions.
Content creator and Smart brand ambassador Sam YG emphasized the need for vigilance amid rising fake news and fraud. “There are so many scams and fake news now — events like this let us talk about how to use technology properly,” he said. “Tech is getting better, but so are scams. We need to check if what we see or read is real.”
Attendees also got to try out emerging tech such as Rokid augmented reality glasses, seeing firsthand how innovation can improve daily life and work.
Aside from learning opportunities, customers enjoyed event-only discounts on devices and data promos. Long-time subscribers shared their appreciation: 30-year customer Jackie Rose Caez noted the service supports her family’s work-from-home and online learning needs, while field worker Jose B. Montalbo, Jr. praised Smart’s strong provincial signal and suitable offers.
“Our goal is to make sure customers are not just connected — but also protected and empowered,” said Smart Customer Experience FVP Brenda Dichoso. Lloyd R. Manaloto, Smart FVP and co-OIC, added: “We go beyond connectivity by giving people the knowledge to stay confident online.”
Smart plans to hold more Customer Day events across the country, bringing together reliable service, useful skills, and customer-focused activities to more Filipinos.
