Jobstreet, TESDA link skills training to jobs

Jobstreet by SEEK and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) are tightening the link between technical-vocational training and employment as the Philippines seeks to turn skilled talent into job-ready workers.

The partnership will support WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026, with the 21st National Skills Olympics (21st NSO) set for September 7 to 11 in Clark.

The competition will bring together Filipino talent in Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across various skills disciplines, showcasing the capabilities of the country’s skilled workforce.

But the partnership goes beyond the competition floor.

Jobstreet by SEEK will conduct career readiness activities for participants through its Career Readiness Program, covering employer expectations, navigating the hiring process, CV development, and mock job interviews.

The sessions are designed to help competitors translate technical competencies into stronger job applications and navigate the recruitment process with greater confidence.

“WorldSkills gives us a powerful view of what Filipino talent can achieve, but the bigger opportunity is what happens when that talent meets the right employer. We want to help close that gap,” said Dannah Majarocon, managing director of Jobstreet by SEEK Philippines.

The initiative comes as employers increasingly look for workers who combine technical expertise with the ability to communicate their skills, navigate recruitment processes, and adapt to changing workplace demands.

For TESDA, the partnership adds an employment-focused layer to skills development, while Jobstreet brings its recruitment and labor-market expertise closer to the country’s growing pool of TVET graduates and skilled workers.

The collaboration highlights a critical step in the skills pipeline. Training can build competence, but connecting that competence with employers can determine whether it translates into a career.

By combining TESDA’s technical training capabilities with Jobstreet’s employment platform and career-readiness expertise, the partnership aims to make Filipino skilled workers not only competition-ready, but also workforce-ready and globally competitive.
