Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation (Pueblo de Oro) and Takamatsu Philippine Corporation (TPC), the local arm of Japan-listed Takamatsu Corporation, have launched a joint venture to pursue real estate investment opportunities across the Philippines, starting with the expansion of Pueblo de Oro Townscapes Malvar in Batangas.
The partnership was formalized last month through a shareholders’ agreement signed during a ceremony at Dusit Thani Manila in Makati City. It combines Pueblo de Oro’s deep local market knowledge and established network in residential and property development with Takamatsu’s more than 100 years of expertise in construction and real estate development in Japan. The collaboration also opens the door to applying Takamatsu’s advanced construction technologies and proven practices in local projects.
Guillermo D. Luchangco, chairman and CEO of Pueblo de Oro, welcomed the strategic alliance between two major real estate developers from the Philippines and Japan. He expressed confidence that Takamatsu would bring valuable strengths in technology, experience, and industry insight as Pueblo de Oro grows its footprint in the domestic market. Luchangco also extended gratitude to Mizuho Financial Group of Japan and the Investment & Capital Corporation of the Philippines (ICCP) for their key roles in making the partnership possible. ICCP served as the financial adviser to Pueblo de Oro, while Mizuho connected Takamatsu with ICCP during the search for a joint venture partner.
This joint venture marks a significant corporate milestone, combining local market leadership with international technical and operational expertise to drive large-scale property development and unlock new commercial value in the Philippine real estate sector.
