Skyro pushes into everyday payments, expands consumer credit reach

Digital lending platform Skyro is moving beyond big-ticket purchases into everyday spending, rolling out expanded payment and credit services as it targets a bigger slice of the Philippines’ growing digital finance market.

At the center of the push is SkyroCredit, a reusable credit line of up to P100,000 that lets consumers pay for daily purchases through QR Ph at more than one million merchants nationwide.

The product also offers customizable cashback rewards of up to 30 percent on eligible purchases, allowing users to choose their preferred spending categories each month. Skyro is preparing to launch a virtual card to support online and contactless transactions, further extending its reach into daily payments.

“We’re building on what we’ve already achieved by expanding how Filipinos can use Skyro, with SkyroCredit playing an important role in that evolution,” said Dmitriy Vavulidi, Skyro’s head of product.

The expansion builds on a fast-growing Philippine operation. Since entering the market in 2022, Skyro has amassed more than seven million registered users, partnered with over 10,000 retail locations and facilitated more than three million loan transactions.

Its portfolio already includes product financing for major purchases and cash loans. SkyroCredit broadens that offering by giving customers another way to access credit for routine expenses, positioning the company to compete in everyday digital payments.

The company showcased its refreshed brand identity and expanded financial services at its Skyro Mooove! event at SM Mall of Asia on October 18. Brand ambassadors and celebrity couple Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado joined the event to promote the platform’s latest offerings.

The broader strategy reflects Skyro’s ambition to turn its established lending base into a wider consumer finance ecosystem, using merchant reach and repeat customer engagement to drive adoption beyond traditional installment loans.
