ERC orders resumption of FIT-All collection

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has ordered the reimposition of the feed-in tariff allowance (FIT-All) starting February this year.

Ordered suspended since December 2022, the decision means charging electricity consumers a variable rate that in this case equal P0.0364 per kilowatt-hour. Its reimposition came in the form of an ERC resolution on 16 January after more than a year of suspension as temporary relief for consumers then dealing with high inflation and other post-pandemic issues.

The state-administered FIT-All pays for the premium of the various renewable energy producers in return for the development of energy from solar, wind and other clean energy sources.

According to the ERC, the FIT-All Fund is in deficit state.
