The Israeli company Ratio Petroleum Ltd. operating Service Contract 76 at the East Palawan Basin is scheduled to begin a seismic survey this month.
The Department of Energy (DOE) said the Israeli company has contracted Shearwater GeoServices and its seismic survey vessel, SW Thuridur, for the job.
SC 76 is located 150 kilometers east of Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
There currently are 19 active petroleum service contracts, 21 in the development and production phase for coal, six more coal contracts in the exploration phase and 47 small-scale coal mining operations, the Department of Energy said.
