Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) has entered into a strategic partnership with Philippine Pharma Procurement Inc. (PPPI) to develop a pharmaceutical logistics and distribution center within the Clark Aviation Capital (CAC) at the Clark Freeport Zone. This collaboration aims to strengthen the transformation of CIAC into the country’s premier logistics hub.
Under the signed memorandum of understanding (MOU), CIAC and PPPI will explore further investment opportunities, joint ventures, and public-private partnerships, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and cold chain management standards. CIAC president Jojit Alcazar highlighted the strategic location of Clark for pharmaceutical logistics, particularly with its air cargo capabilities, while PPPI president Maria Blanca Kim Lokin emphasized Clark’s proximity to major transportation networks, ideal for the distribution of medical supplies.
The collaboration is set to support President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision of establishing pharmaceutical ecozones, improving access to medicines, and reducing the country’s reliance on imported products. It also aims to enhance the rollout of the “Botika at Bakuna Para Sa Mamamayan” program. The development of this logistics hub further positions CIAC and Clark Freeport Zone as a critical player in global aviation and logistics, attracting key industry leaders like FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
This partnership not only supports the pharmaceutical sector but also aligns with the government’s socioeconomic agenda to ensure affordable healthcare for all Filipinos.
