Filipino employees rank among the happiest in the Asia-Pacific, driven more by meaningful work and career growth than by paychecks, according to Jobstreet by SEEK’s latest report.
The “Workplace Happiness Index: Philippines 2025” revealed that 77 percent of Filipino workers describe themselves as somewhat or extremely happy on the job, second only to Indonesia’s 82 percent. The survey included over 10,500 workers across the region, with 1,000 respondents from the Philippines aged 18 to 64.
Regionally, the Visayas topped the list of happiest workers at 82 percent, followed by the National Capital Region at 77 percent, while Luzon and Mindanao both reported 76 percent. The data suggests a relatively uniform sense of satisfaction across the country.
Filipino employees are increasingly prioritizing purpose over pay, with 77 percent saying they feel valued at work and 74 percent describing their roles as fulfilling.
Career growth is also central to happiness, though 55 percent of respondents admitted they often consider changing jobs if advancement opportunities are lacking.
Yet challenges persist. Only 41 percent of workers feel they can manage stress effectively, and 38 percent report experiencing burnout or extreme fatigue.
Concerns about artificial intelligence are also rising, with 41 percent worried about AI’s potential impact on their roles.
Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK Philippines, said the findings highlight shifting expectations among employees, who increasingly seek workplaces that foster engagement, purpose, and long-term growth.
“Filipino workers are looking for more than a paycheck—they want meaning, opportunity, and support,” she noted.
