Pasig City residents across various sectors will gain access to improved financial literacy training under a new partnership between the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Pasig City Government, and the BDO Foundation (BDOF).
The three parties signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on June 16, 2026, at the People’s Hall in Pasig City. The initiative aims to help residents manage their money better, make sound financial choices, and guard against scams and fraud.
Beneficiaries include students, teachers, senior citizens, jeepney and tricycle drivers, market vendors, micro-entrepreneurs, cooperatives, relocated families, homeowners’ groups, solo parents, and the youth.
Under the deal, BSP will provide technical guidance, learning materials, and direct training sessions. BDO Foundation will help train local advocates to serve as instructors for the program.
BSP deputy governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat emphasized the goal of bringing financial education closer to the people and ensuring safe, accessible financial services. Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto noted that better money management can help solve many common problems. BDO Foundation president Mario Deriquito added that the program will deliver practical, usable knowledge.
DICT Secretary Henry Aguda also attended the event and highlighted the benefits of digital payments, citing speed and transparency. The partnership supports the BSP’s ongoing drive to build financially empowered communities through public and private cooperation.
