VITRO Sta. Rosa touted as most advanced AI-ready PH data center

Sta. Rosa, Philippines — VITRO Inc., the data center arm of PLDT Inc. (PLDT) and a subsidiary of ePLDT, has officially energized its VITRO Sta. Rosa (VSR) facility, establishing it as the most advanced hyperscale data center in the Philippines.

VITRO Sta. Rosa is designed to support the increasing demand for artificial intelligence (AI)-driven solutions and cloud computing services. “As the world increasingly turns to AI-driven solutions and cloud computing, I’m pleased to announce that VITRO Sta. Rosa is now AI-ready,” said Victor S. Genuino, president and CEO of ePLDT and VITRO Inc. “This facility is prepared to host and manage the Philippines’ most robust computing infrastructure, supporting generative AI, large language models, and other high-performance workloads.”

The energization of the facility was made possible through the activation of Meralco’s 115kV switching station in Sta. Rosa, officially marking the data center’s readiness for client equipment installations. Several telecommunications providers have already set up their points-of-presence (POPs) at VSR, with additional enterprises expected to follow suit in the coming months.

By the end of 2024, VSR aims to deliver an initial 20MW of IT power, with plans to ensure that at least 35 percent of its energy comes from renewable sources. The facility is built with cutting-edge technologies for energy efficiency, cooling, and power redundancy, making it highly suitable for AI and hyperscale computing needs.

VSR has also earned a Rated-3 certification and is Rated-4 ready, signifying the highest levels of network diversity and resilience. This includes a minimum of three fiber routes from PLDT and other telecom providers, ensuring maximum uptime for clients.

This milestone highlights the Philippines’ growing role as a key digital hub in the Asia Pacific region, attracting global cloud and AI companies to take advantage of the country’s expanding digital infrastructure.
