PITX prepares for holiday surge, expects 3 million passengers this Christmas season

The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) is gearing up to accommodate up to 3 million passengers during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday season, from December 20, 2024, to January 6, 2025.

With the holiday rush expected to peak on December 20, the terminal anticipates high passenger volumes throughout the festive period, continuing through December 23 and into the final weekend of the year. The surge will extend into early January as travelers return to work and school.

To manage the influx, PITX is collaborating with key government agencies, including the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA). Additional buses will be deployed, and enhanced traffic management, vehicle inspections, and security measures are being implemented to ensure smooth operations.

PITX is also focusing on passenger convenience, offering 24/7 operations, real-time travel updates via official platforms, and on-site assistance from staff and security personnel. Jason Salvador, PITX’s Corporate Affairs and Government Relations Director, emphasized the terminal’s commitment to providing a “Biyaheng Ayos” experience, ensuring a safe and efficient journey for holiday travelers.

PITX encourages passengers to plan ahead, purchase tickets in advance, and arrive early to avoid delays, while following terminal guidelines for a smooth, organized travel experience.
