Phinma Corp. to build affordable housing communities in Davao and Bacolod

Filipino-owned Phinma Corp. announced plans to construct affordable housing communities in Davao and Bacolod, offering low-cost homes with essential facilities. Each community will feature an initial 200 units, priced between P750,000 and P800,000, aligning with the Pag-Ibig Fund’s housing loan limits. The company’s vision extends beyond just building homes, aiming to create supportive communities with daycare centers, skills training, and potential employment opportunities.

Phinma chairman and CEO Ramon R. Del Rosario Jr. said these developments are designed to offer families more than just a place to live, but a pathway to long-term stability and dignity, particularly for informal settlers. The homes will allow families to pay rents similar to current rates, helping them build equity and an official address—an essential step in enhancing their sense of dignity.

The company is also considering partnerships, including with Gawad Kalinga, to scale the project. The Davao and Bacolod projects will serve as prototypes to refine the concept before expanding to other areas like Iloilo, which Phinma is still scouting for suitable land.

This initiative reflects Phinma’s commitment to making housing more accessible and improving the quality of life for underserved communities in the Philippines.
