Globe joins UN-led DISHA initiative to enhance disaster response

Globe has become the first telecommunications company to join the UN Global Pulse’s Data Insights for Social and Humanitarian Action (DISHA) coalition. This partnership will leverage AI-driven data for disaster preparedness and response in the Philippines, a region highly vulnerable to climate-related disasters.

Through this initiative, Globe will contribute to DISHA’s Socio-Economic Mapping solution, which uses AI and telecommunications data to provide real-time insights into population movement and poverty levels during crises. The goal is to improve disaster response, enabling humanitarian organizations to deliver aid more efficiently.

Globe’s involvement underscores its commitment to sustainability and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those focused on disaster management and climate action. With this partnership, Globe aims to enhance disaster response capabilities and support vulnerable communities in the Philippines by ensuring better connectivity and access to critical information in the aftermath of disasters.

This collaboration with DISHA also highlights the growing importance of digital technology in addressing global humanitarian challenges.
