Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. (AC Health) subsidiary Healthway Medical Network has assumed control of the FEU-NRMF Medical Center, a 300-bed university hospital located in Quezon City. The takeover follows a 35-year lease agreement signed in late 2023 between AC Health and the Far Eastern University – Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU-NRMF).
The acquisition marks a significant expansion of AC Health’s integrated healthcare ecosystem, reinforcing its presence in hospital operations and education-based medical services. The Healthway FEU-NRMF Medical Center is the only Level 3 hospital serving Quezon City’s District 5, and expected to serve as both a premier healthcare facility and a clinical training hub.
“This milestone underscores AC Health’s unwavering commitment to our vision of transforming health for every Filipino,” said Paolo Borromeo, AC Health president and CEO, highlighting the synergy and growth potential within the broader Ayala ecosystem.
As part of the transition, AC Health is implementing substantial infrastructure and service upgrades, including modernization of the catheterization lab, enhancement of cardiac surgery capabilities, establishment of a women’s health center, and expansion of dialysis and ophthalmology services.
Fernando Zobel de Ayala, chairman of AC Health, emphasized the long-term value of the acquisition: “This represents a renewed commitment to quality and accessible healthcare—rooted in legacy but focused on the future.”
FEU-NRMF president Juan Enrique Reyes cited the alignment of values and shared mission as key factors in the decision to entrust hospital operations to AC Health, noting the cultural fit and vision for continuity in medical excellence.
