LezzGo streamlines Boracay port ticketing system

BORACAY ISLAND (August 5, 2025) – A new chapter in Boracay’s tourism infrastructure began today with the launch of the P150-million Unified Automated Ticketing System, branded “LezzGo Boracay,” at the island’s entry and exit ports.

Developed by Top Line Hi Tech and Synergy Corp., the system integrates all essential travel requirements—terminal fee, environmental fee, boat fare, and passenger manifest—into a single, QR-coded digital transaction. Processing time has now been reduced from 30–40 minutes to just 10–15 minutes, allowing for a smoother and more orderly travel experience.

The 10-year public-private partnership was formalized between Top Line Hi Tech, the provincial government of Aklan, and the local government of Malay, with support from the Department of Tourism.

Top Line Hi Tech is a subsidiary of Topline Equity Corp., under the publicly listed Top Line Business Development.

“We have always believed that true progress is shared progress,” said Aklan Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores. “LezzGo Boracay is a testament to the power of public and private collaboration in enhancing tourist convenience through digital innovation. This milestone reflects Aklan’s commitment to the national digitalization agenda and to transparent, efficient governance.”

Eugene Erik Lim, president and chief executive officer of Top Line Hi Tech, emphasized that LezzGo is also a step toward sustainable tourism.

“We started this journey with Pier 88—the first smart port in Central Visayas. Now, through the support of Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, we’re transforming Boracay’s main ports into smart ports as well. Beyond efficiency, a portion of collected convenience fees will go toward supporting local civil society groups in partnership with the provincial government,” Lim said.

The LezzGo system is now fully operational in the main ports of Caticlan and Cagban, and partially deployed in Tabon and Tambisaan, which serve as alternative ports during inclement weather.

From a baseline of 5,000–6,000 daily passengers under manual ticketing, the digital platform is expected to eventually process over 10,000 travelers per day. LezzGo currently runs as a web-based platform, with a dedicated mobile app scheduled for release in 2026.

Beginning September 1, a P35 per way convenience fee will apply to all transactions, expected to generate at least P63 million annually at minimum traffic levels. Two percent of these fees will go directly to the LGUs operating the ports.

A separate P15 booking fee applies to online payments, which goes to the platform’s contracted payment facilitator to ensure secure digital transactions.

Manual ticketing will remain available during the transition period but will gradually be phased out.

When asked whether the long-term partnership with Top Line Hi Tech signals the provincial government’s stance on San Miguel Corp.’s proposed P8-billion Boracay Bridge, Governor Miraflores replied: “We will cross that bridge when we get there. A final decision will be made only after thorough consultation with the people of Malay.”
