GSIS Chief Veloso, 4 Execs Return to Warm Welcome After Suspension Lifted

GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso and four other executives received an emotional welcome from employees during the agency’s flag-raising ceremony on September 23, following the lifting of their 60-day preventive suspension by the Office of the Ombudsman.

Also returning to duty were executive vice president Jason Teng, vice president Abigail Cruz-Francisco, manager Alfredo Pablo, and officer Jaime Leon Warren. The Ombudsman’s July order had temporarily barred them from their posts pending an investigation.

Veloso thanked employees for their support during their absence, emphasizing unity, accountability, and sound fund management. He noted that under his leadership, GSIS’s fund grew to ₱1.88 trillion as of June 2025, with net income in the first half of the year surging over 30 percent to ₱77 billion.

He also expressed gratitude to EVP Juliet Bautista for serving as officer-in-charge, and called on GSIS staff to continue working together to achieve world-class service.
