Following the 6.9 magnitude earthquake on September 30, McDonald’s Philippines reported that all employees, managers, and customers are safe. The company reaffirmed that the safety of its people remains its top priority.
As of 1:00 PM on October 1, safety inspections were completed across all McDonald’s branches in Cebu. Only the McDonald’s Bogo branch sustained major structural damage and remains closed. Four other branches—JY Square, North Reclamation, Carcar, and Jones—were temporarily closed due to minor repairs and limited crew availability. However, McDonald’s JY Square, North Reclamation, and Jones have since resumed operations. Meanwhile, the Il Corso branch, which was initially reported as damaged, has been cleared and is now open.
All other McDonald’s stores in Cebu remain operational and continue to serve customers and communities.
In coordination with local government units (LGUs), McDonald’s is providing hot meals to frontliners and communities affected by the earthquake. The company is also inviting individuals and organizations to support relief efforts by donating meals through www.rmhc.org.ph/donate.
McDonald’s emphasized its continued commitment to the well-being of its employees and the safety of the communities it serves.
