BSP recognizes Visayas partners for advancing financial inclusion and stability

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) honored ten outstanding institutional partners from the Visayas during the 2025 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony (OBSAC), underscoring the critical role of collaboration in achieving a stable, inclusive financial system.

Held in Iloilo City, the ceremony celebrated organizations that have significantly contributed to the BSP’s key advocacies, including financial inclusion, financial education, currency management, digital payments, and gold buying.

Monetary Board Member Benjamin E. Diokno, in his keynote address, highlighted the importance of the awardees’ efforts, stating that their work “strengthens communities, builds trust, and lays the foundation for a more inclusive and resilient economy.”

BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat added that while the central bank develops policies and programs, these stakeholders bring them to life in the everyday experiences of Filipinos.

Recognized this year were Card Bank, Inc. – Roxas Branch; Land Bank of the Philippines – Dumaguete Branch, Tacloban Branch, and its Cash Operations Unit in Iloilo; Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company – Cebu Fuente Osmeña Center and Roxas Branch; the Local Government of Talisay City, Negros Occidental; Cebu Bankers Club; Tacloban Bankers Association, Inc.; and Perpetual Help Community Cooperative.

Since its inception in 2004, OBSAC has served as a platform for the BSP to honor institutional partners that help promote its mandates of price and financial stability, as well as a safe and efficient payments and settlements system.

This year’s Visayas ceremony followed earlier OBSAC events held for stakeholders from the BSP’s Head Office, South Luzon, Mindanao, and North Luzon between July and October 2025.

For the Filipino public, the recognition reinforces confidence in the country’s financial system, ensuring that BSP initiatives reach communities on the ground and contribute to a more secure and inclusive economy.
