Philippine Airlines (PAL) has expanded its domestic network with the launch of a new four-times-weekly service between Cebu and Calbayog, aiming to improve travel convenience and strengthen links across the country.
“This new route between Cebu and Calbayog boosts leisure and business travel, promotes economic activity, and strengthens Cebu’s role as a gateway to various parts of the Philippines and the rest of the world,” said Rabbi Vincent Ang, president of PAL Express.
The new route gives travelers from Calbayog easier access to Manila and smooth connections through Cebu to other PAL destinations, including Bacolod, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, Siargao, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro. International flights are also available via PAL’s Cebu and Manila hubs.
Known as the “City of Waterfalls,” Calbayog is a cultural and commercial hub in Samar, famous for its natural attractions, festivals, and traditional industries such as mat-making and fishing.
PAL operates its 86-seater De Havilland Dash 8-400 Next Generation aircraft on the Cebu–Calbayog route, offering a comfortable flight experience and the airline’s signature Filipino service.
The airline credited its partners—Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority, Aboitiz InfraCapital, and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines—for supporting its continued growth and expansion in Cebu.
