NNIC activates Oplan Undas 2025 for safe, efficient travel at NAIA

The New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC) has launched Oplan Undas 2025 across all terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to ensure safe, comfortable, and efficient travel during the All Saints’ Day break and long weekend.

The operation runs from October 25 to November 3, 2025, with NAIA expecting to handle about 1.35 million passengers, up from 1.3 million last year.

“Undas is one of the busiest travel periods for the airport, and we are fully prepared to manage the expected surge. We have deployed additional personnel, strengthened coordination with partner agencies, and activated passenger assistance counters to make travel smoother and safer for everyone,” said NNIC president Ramon S. Ang.

NNIC is coordinating with the MIAA, DOTr, OTS, PNP-Aviation Security Group, Bureau of Immigration, and Bureau of Customs to ensure adequate manpower and resources. The PNP Special Operations Unit and K-9 teamshave been deployed for enhanced security patrols.

Oplan Assistance Counters are in place at key passenger areas to help travelers with directions, inquiries, and lost items.

Now on its second Undas under private management, NAIA is benefiting from modernization programs that have boosted both efficiency and passenger comfort. Since NNIC’s takeover in September 2024, the airport’s on-time performance has reached a record 92.29 percent, serving 51.7 million passengers in its first year—4 percent higher than the previous year.

NNIC has remitted ₱57 billion to the government, including ₱30 billion upfront, under an 82.16 percent revenue share, the highest among Philippine public-private partnerships. It has already invested ₱3.25 billion in upgrades as part of a ₱72-billion, five-year capital program.

Improvements include stable power and air-conditioning, flood-free access roads, faster Wi-Fi, a centralized TNVS hub, automated parking, wider curbsides, and new food halls and restaurants — nine of 22 already open at Terminal 3.

Other upgrades include 95 percent completion of 586 new flight information display systems (FIDS) under the quiet terminal concept, 517 biometric-enabled processing units for faster check-in and boarding, and the ongoing installation of 78 Immigration e-gates and 113 verification desks, with Phase 1 set for completion in December 2025.

The airport has also opened a 6,000-sqm Mezzanine Food Hall and new passenger lounges to offer more dining and relaxation options.

NNIC reminds travelers to arrive early—three hours before international flights and two hours before domestic ones—and to allow extra time for security checks. Passengers are also advised to pack smart, keep valuables safe, and avoid bringing prohibited items.
