After nearly four years off the same stage, BTS returned in blockbuster fashion on March 21 with BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, drawing an estimated 260,000 fans to Gwanghwamun Square and millions more through a global stream on Netflix.
Set along the historic avenue leading to Gyeongbokgung, the concert signaled both spectacle and intent. BTS is back and firmly rooted in its cultural DNA.
The performance marked the group’s first complete live reunion since 2022 and came just a day after the release of their fifth studio album, ARIRANG.
According to HYBE, the album draws from the iconic Korean folk song of the same name to express the group’s identity and emotional range while aiming to resonate across borders and generations.
Onstage, that ambition took shape through a balanced mix of new material and global hits. The group opened with “Body to Body,” moved through fresh tracks like “Hooligan,” “2.0,” “SWIM,” and “NORMAL,” and energized the crowd with “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “MIC Drop.”
The night closed with “Mikrokosmos,” turning the comeback into a shared moment of reunion with fans worldwide.
At around a dozen songs, the show functioned less as a full tour and more as a global reintroduction.
It debuted ARIRANGlive, marked their return following military service, and reconnected the group with an audience that never really left.
